Fort Ebey Beach Backpacking Trip

Our hike started at Joseph Whidbey State Park at the north end of Whidbey Island.  We put our backpacks on our shoulders and started our hike along the beach.  We headed south below the cliffs.

This was an 8 mile hike to Fort Ebey State Park.  The beach hike was sandy and rocky at times. The weather was great as it was not too cold nor warm.  Perfect for backpacking.

Once at Fort Ebey, we set up out camp to spend the night.  Hot food and a campfire were a welcome feature after having sore feet.

The next day we headed back to Joseph Whidbey State Park.  8 miles north.  This hike our first training hike in preparation for the Summer 50 miler trek.
